This fascinating workshop is a comprehensive overview of new and innovative enamel techniques. Explore traditional and contemporary techniques of enameling and creating designs using enamel powders, paints and frits, decals, and stringers on various types of glass. Learn how to combine hot glass inclusions (sheet copper, gold and silver leaf, and mica flakes) to achieve special effects. Demonstrated special effects with wet enamel paints using various shaped brushes and rubber stamps. Sift dry enamel powders and frit using unique tools and gadgets. Covering a wealth of ideas and techniques, this workshop will demonstrate stencil construction and decorating glass by sifting dry enamels through stencils onto glass. Techniques shown can be applied to create plates, panels, tiles, sun catchers, and jewelry with glass enamels. Kay is the author of the recent books Contemporary Glass Enameling-Painting with Powders, Paints & Frit and Designs for Glass Enameling: Techniques and Patterns.

Fantasy Solder Sculpting All Skill Levels
In a fun workshop chock full of information, Kay will teach sculpting with solder for creating special effects, exploring various solders, working with sheet copper, a solder pot, and no-fire color stains.
Use a metal plate to solder sculpt ornamental designs. Learn to create decorative solder patterns seams. Stamp designs into molten solder with metal stamps. Using unique tools and gadgets to manipulate pliable copper, learn to drape, pierce, hammer, and embossed designs. Learn how to create or enhance box tops, book covers, faces, jewelry, lamp bases, door pulls, flowers, holiday ornaments, picture frame corners, and overlays.
Kay is the author of the book and CD Solder Sculpting and Beyond and three other decorative solder books. This dynamic instructor will demonstrate dozens of innovative ideas to give your glass art a unique and professional touch. This is a fun workshop that will stimulate your creativity.
